Meet the CBC Preschool Staff

Jennifer Trull, Preschool Director

The Lord called Jennifer to serve as Calvary Baptist Church’s Preschool Director in November 2020. Jennifer said “yes” to Jesus one night during VBS in her elementary school years. While the exact date may be blurry, the feeling she had in her heart and the voice of God she heard that night are things she will never forget.
Jennifer and her family have been members of Calvary for 17 years. She and her husband, Justin, are raising two beautiful girls, Skylar (16) and Marleigh (13).
Jennifer loves spending time with her family and friends, and she especially loves to host. Anyone who knows her knows her door is always open. She values creating strong, purposeful relationships, building community, and extending a helping hand to those in need.
Jennifer’s love for teaching and guiding children began during her middle and high school years while serving in children’s ministry. That love has continued throughout her life as she serves with youth, helps with VBS each summer, and leads Calvary Baptist Church Preschool.
Her heart extends beyond children. Jennifer has a deep love and passion for women and families and desires for every person who comes through the doors of Calvary to experience the love of Christ. Her prayer is that the preschool would be a place where children are loved, families feel supported, and seeds of faith are planted that will last a lifetime.

Jeanette Winslow, Staff and Family Support

I am so excited to begin my new role at CBC Preschool as Ministry Assistant to Staff and Families.  My goal is to be a resource of faithful support and encouragement to the staff and parents, as we all navigate the daily tasks of working with our beloved children.  My career as a former Director of Weekday Ministries began over 35 years ago. My passion has grown ever stronger, to help provide the highest quality program for children at the heart of the church setting. I am grateful to God, who has guided my education, Master’s Degree in Christian Education and BS in Education from Pfeiffer and Indiana Universities respectively. I have been blessed beyond measure in sharing the message of love, faith and hope with young children all these years.  My son and daughter, Jeff and Jenny have given me the greatest joy of 5 grandchildren:  Alanah, Daniel, Weston, Walker and Wells. They are the light of my life!
I am so very thankful for this sacred opportunity and look forward to the year ahead!
Proverbs 3:5  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will guide your path.

Abby Rape, Learning Support Assistant

Abby is the lead teacher in the Blue Room. A lifelong resident of Union County, Abby's roots run deep in the community she calls home.  She and her husband, Evan have built a life centered around faith, family and love.  Together, they are the proud parents of two wonderful sons, Levi and Maddox.

Abby's journey at CBC Preschool began with her involvement on the PPC, where she first felt a strong calling to serve as a substitute teacher.  Her passion for teaching quickly grew, leading her to take on a full time role.  During her first year, she led the Teal Room, guiding and nurturing the 3 year-olds.  Building on that experience, she transitioned to the Blue Room last year, where she had the joy of teaching the 4-year-olds.

Family is at the heart of everything Abby does.  Whether it's exploring new places on their family travels or cheering on Levi and Maddox from the sidelines of the fields, Abby treasures every moment spent with her loved ones.  Her commitment extends beyond her family and her classroom  as she is actively involved in the local recreation association, supporting the activities and sports her boys love.

Abby is incredibly excited to continue her teaching journey this year and can't wait to create more meaningful memories and experiences with our wonderful children.

Susan started attending Calvary Baptist Church when the preschool was in its first year and her grandchildren were there.   After working for over 34 years at Union County DSS, she retired, then subbed at the preschool for a year, and loved it!  She is excited to start another year in the 3’s as a TA, and looks forward to learning and growing in her walk with the Lord at Calvary.

Susan has always found joy in family, community, and a willingness to serve others.

She worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 20 years until the birth of their son in 2016.  In 2017, she started a small business selling art, crafts and alterations.   Although she has been content with all of her careers, she always knew she wanted to work with children at a young age, often subjecting her siblings/cousins to play school and complete worksheets she had made.  She was always the "teacher".  Last year, the Lord called her to sub at Calvary.  During that time, she just knew that's where she belonged and felt that was her purpose God was calling her to do.  She feels extremely blessed to be in a Christ centered environment and have the opportunity to share Jesus with the children.

Meet Ms. Kelly!

Kelly will be the Lead Teacher in the Blue Room this school year.

Kelly was born and raised in Lancaster County, South Carolina, by her loving parents. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. A few years after graduating from college, she married her husband, Chad, in 2015, and they made Union County, North Carolina, their home. Together they have two wonderful children, Ryder (5) and Reese (4). This year, Ryder will begin kindergarten at Porter Ridge Elementary School, and Reese will be in her final year of preschool at Calvary Baptist Church Preschool.

Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Kelly worked in the insurance industry. She and her family are active members of Calvary Baptist Church, where she serves in the children’s ministry, both in the nursery and in Kids Worship.
When Ryder began attending Calvary Baptist Church Preschool in 2023, Kelly was given the opportunity to substitute in the classrooms. During that time, she witnessed firsthand the love, care, and dedication the teachers pour into each child. She was especially inspired by how the children are not only taught academically but are also reminded every day of how deeply Jesus loves them.

After serving as the assistant teacher in the Blue Room for the past two years, Kelly is excited and honored to begin her first official year as the Lead Teacher in the four-year-old class. She is passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels loved, encouraged, and excited to learn. Above all, Kelly’s prayer is to be a light for Jesus and to help her students grow in both knowledge and their understanding of God’s love.
